Guide to applying for research funding: Approving the application and sending it to the funder

Approving the application

Deliver the application to the approver 2 weeks before the application deadline at the latest. Find the approvers in tab After finding an appropriate form of funding.

The information of applications requiring the approval of the Rector or Vice Rector should be delivered to the Research Services (tiia.saarinen@uniarts.fi, kirsi.rinne@uniarts.fi). The Dean of the academy determines the presenters of research funding applications with a maximum value of EUR 100,000.

Sending the application to the funder

Send the application to the funder well in advance before the deadline. Please note that funders are not flexible with the deadline, and heavy traffic in an electronic application system, for example, is not an acceptable reason for submitting an application past its deadline. Funders do not process applications submitted after the deadline.

Send a copy of the approved application delivered to the funder and its attachments to the registry of University of the Arts Helsinki. If possible, send the application (form) and the research plan as separate PDF files to kirjaamo@uniarts.fi.

  • Any application submitted in the university’s name is archived in the case and document management system Dynasty according to the data management plan of Uniarts Helsinki. Administrative staff of Uniarts Helsinki has access to any public documents in the Dynasty systems, but application attachments such as the research plan, for example, are not public.
