The newest editions of magazines are placed in the reading loft, the older editions are in storage. Journals and periodicals can be borrowed. In acqusition emphasis is placed on electronic publications whenever possible.

Printed journals in the Sibelius Academy Library in Helsinki
Most of the library’s serials are foreign music magazines and annuals. The latest volumes of the serials are available for reading in the library, while the older volumes are kept in the storage. The serials are not loaned out. The library prefers online publications over printed publications in its purchase decisions whenever possible.

The Kuopio Library has a subscription to about 30 serials at the moment. Library users can also read the online version of some of the printed journals that the library has subscribed to. Two of the latest volumes of the journal are available in the library, while the older volumes are housed in the storage. The loan period for journals is 2 weeks. The latest issues are not available for borrowing. Copies of articles can be purchased using the interlibrary loan service.

Through Arsca's search menu, by selecting: international e-materials, you can also read journals remotely with Uniarts Id. If you don't have credentials, you can read journal articles of e-materials in the library. Use the Guest login option on the library's client computer.
