Taideyliopiston julkaisemisen opas: Research Community Services

Community services for researchers

Commercial community services for researchers such as and Researech Catalogue offer researchers the opportunity to share and present their own publications and research results.

Parallel depositing, in other words uploading an article to a service, always also requires:

  • permission from the publisher that published the original article,
  • permission from any other authors, and
  • permissions to use any images, tables etc.

Do keep in mind that permanent accessibility, the use of permanent identifiers or data descriptions in central information systems are not always guaranteed in social media services, unlike when you deposit in Uniarts institutional repository Taju.

Researcher profiles

In researcher profiles, researchers can create a personal identifier. The identifier helps tell researchers apart and prevents problems arising from any confusion over names.

Your profile can be private or public. Automatically gathers citations from Scholar and calculates an h-index based on these.

In this service you can maintain a list of publications and add publication data to your own profile, e.g. from Researcher ID and Scopus. Additional information and instructions on how to create a profile:

A researcher profile by Clarivate Analytics. In this service you can maintain your own list of publications as well as monitor citations and h-index from the Web of Science.  Can be integrated with your Orchid account.

Scopus’ researcher profile is automatically created in the database. If you notice any errors or if publications are missing from your profile, you can request Scopus to make corrections. Can be integrated with your Orchid account.
